Meet the Hernandezes!
While The Oaks is a small neighborhood in comparison to most of our larger neighborhood neighbors, there are a still a LOT of families here and we would love to see everyone get to know each other! With that in mind we here at the Oaks Communications Committee are going to do our best to feature a new family each month and introduce them everyone.
This month our featured family is the Hernandezes! Many of you probably already know Franky and Jacqueline as they are both active members of the community both in person and on Facebook. Franky and Jaqueline have been living in the Oaks with their four children (Gianna 11, Naomi 9, Franky Jr. 7 and Alexander 3) since March of 2018.
Cane Bay was much smaller back then and seemed very family friendly. We have grown to love our neighbors and neighborhood and are very happy where we are.
Franky was born in New Britain, Connecticut while his parents were visitng family but raised in Newark, New Jersey. Jacqueline is a born, raised and married Army Brat, being born in Germany and living all over the world.
Franky is retired Army and owns and operates a private in home Hair Studio supporting local Veterans, Law Enforcement and Active Duty Personnel in the Community. You have undoubtedly seen his work if you are part of the Oaks or Cane Bay Facebook Groups! Jacqueline is a local realtor and owns Heart, Lock, Key LLC. Jacqueline is also an experienced doula and lactation educator!
Like the rest of us, the Hernandezes have plenty of hobbies and pasttimes to help fill their lives and keep them happy:
We love to explore and travel! Spending time around our firepit is also a family favorite! The Hernandez kids are involved in boxing, while Franky enjoys golfing. Jacqueline cheers all of them on!
One of the questions we love asking all of the residents of the Oaks is if there are any special places in the area that they love to visit or hang out? The hopes are that we can share our ‘hidden gems’ with each other and introduce our neighbors to places and events they might not otherwise know about.
We all love a place we call “The hole in the wall”…it’s our family joke. It is a small Chinese restaurant off of Red Bank. Good food and great people who work there!
We’d like to thank Franky, Jacqueline and the rest of the Hernandez family for allowing us to get to know them this month! When asked if there was any other parting thoughts or comments they left us with this:
Many of our neighbors have amazing talents. Get to know them if you haven’t.
We couldn’t agree more. If you know of a neighbor you think should be featured on our site, or if you are interested in contributing to the site, please email us at communicationcommittee@theoaksatcanebay.com

Nick moved into the Oaks with his family in September of 2020. Nick works as a software engineer and indulges in a selection of hobbies including guitar playing, bourbon tasting and doing DIY electronics projects. He has a full house of 6 children on Basket Grass.
